Labor Day Weekend in In the Meadow

School starts on Thursday. At this point it seems like they are the only kids in North America who have not gone back to school, ha ha. Kayla and Timmy will have a long school year. They will take the Chemistry Regents Exam in June, and that is one of the last scheduled exams. It is good that school is starting late.

We had a good Labor Day Weekend. It was unseasonably warm and we went to the beach. We also went out for brunch. Timmy and Kayla had the junior class retreat this past week. Once they are adjusted to being in school again, we will start visiting colleges. We looked at a few colleges this summer. We didn’t go on a formal tour. It was just to get a feel for the enrollment and location of colleges they want to attend.

When I was in high school one of my favorite movies was “Weekend at Bernie’s.” Labor Day Weekend always makes me think of this movie. I was not the most mature high schooler and was more into silly comedies than more serious movies. I have been thinking of going to see “Crazy Rich Asians” because I have heard it is very good.
