Staycation, gem mine, panning for gold in Misadventures of West Virginia Woman

I really want to go to the state fair. I have been pouting for days. Talan kept reminding me we can’t afford it. I wanted to cry. I went online looking for staycations cheap in my hometown to discover Someplace Special Gem Mine. Talan and i shoveled 3 large buckets of sand sifted through the sand we got tons of beautiful gems. The man running the attraction is very knowledgable about stones. I have lived in this area my entire life and had no idea nothing this cool was just a few miles away from my house in Daniels. I found it online.

We talked to the guy over 2 hours. Talan and i pet his horses. The guy said as of September he is retiring buying a sailboat and living at the ocean. He plan to sell his business for $400,000.

I am very sad i wish i knew about this gem mine earlier. I love gemstones. I told the guy I plan to come back with some friends i want them to experience this fun. He refused my money.I asked him why he said he will just charge me double next time. He said our enertainment was payment. I was shocked i thought i didnt understand him at first. He said with us being local he is looking forward to seeing us again. I guarantee he will. We had fun and i want to repay his kindness! I need to find a bunch of friends to come with me. I need to come back and pay him. He heard Talan and i talking about wedding plans. The owner said we remind him of him and his wife. He said us having fun was payment.

The owner was teaching Talan to pan for gold. I always saw it done on tv but never in real life. Talan talked about how he hopes to take me gold hunting someday. He teased me calling me a gold digger. I told him most gold diggers around here are looking for sugar daddys not actual real gold. I think it would be fun to learn but i reminded Talan panning for gold is a lot of work with little turn out. Talan tried to pan a while. Swore he found a tiny glimmer to lose it in the water.

I came home delighted with our gemstones. I took a picture posted it on instagram. I have been talking to my friends and Talan come back for the fun before the guy shuts down the gem mine. I wish i knew about it before. I would have been there every week paying by the bucket sifting out the gems. The guy is so nice i will happy pay for a bucket of paydirt for him to get closer to retirement. He is so nice he deserves his enjoyable retirement!

Here i am again looking for staycation ideas for around Daniels that doesnt cost much. I will not go broke having fun this summer. I missed out on the fair but maybe something exciting i didnt know about is just around a country road! Here i am online planning adventure again.
