A little warm? in A small but passable life.

It was 115 degrees yesterday setting a new record high for the day by one degree. Today it was 116 degrees tying the high record for the day. Tomorrow is a forecast 115 degrees. The overnight low tonight is a predicted 92 degrees.

Yeah, a bit warm outside. In here under the A/C it is a consistent 75 degrees. So, here in my chair I’ll remain for a few more months.

I finished reading “The Crooked Staircase” by Dean Koontz. It was the third book in the Jane Hawk series. There is a fourth book coming.

We took delivery on the new car three weeks ago yesterday. It had 18 miles on the odometer when we drove it off the lot. It now has 89 miles on the odometer.

I filled up the tank in the old car when we returned from vacation at the end of May. We purchased no gasoline in June. The car had a half tank when we traded it in. It looks like we’ll for sure not be buying any gasoline in July as well because the new car came with a full tank. And maybe we won’t be buying any gasoline in August either because the tank is just now down to three quarters full. So yeah, not bad.

I bit the bullet this morning after my first cup of coffee and walked up to the pool for my shave and shower. It was already 100 degrees at 9am.

Yeah, brilliant idea, building a city in the middle of a desert. Brilliant.

For some reason the car dealer had run a credit check on me even though we had told them Mom was the one buying the car. Anyway, one of the three agencies had scored me at 558. Who knew? Not me. That’s the first time in six decades that I’ve ever seen ‘my’ score. The scale starts at 250 so maybe that’s not too bad? Whatever. Mom’s report came in the mail the next day. She’s now bragging about her score of 821. Whatever.

It’s been over twenty years since I’ve taken out a loan (to buy Trigger II). I hope to never do it again. So far, so good.

Did I mention that I bought a coffee grinder?
