DOMESTICITIES in Postcards 4

I’d planned to go to either a meeting or workout in the pool this morning. Only after I decided to go to the pool did I realize I still have an open wound on my leg from the spot the doc took his biopsy. So, instead of getting out there doing good-for-me things, I am home doing domesticities like laundry.

• I discovered that those old, heavy banquet tables that I used to set up with ease are now almost impossible to move. I got one set up near the book area, and all the books for the book EVENT, they won’t let me use the word SALE, are on it. I will go back each day and tidy the piles of slippery books from the 23rd to the 28th. Old friend Charlie, the guy who bought the nautical books, came and took away a good pile.
• Domesticities: Laundry, grocery shopping, staying out of the unbearable heat, and more laundry.
• Between all those delightful things, I’m going to start going through my pictures. I got some really good ones this year, and I am looking forward to seeing what I have.
• The picture of us in costume was taken by the Portfolio Review boss on Saturday. Someone should have pulled my dress down in back.

  • Himself: Less of a crush at work today. Vacation boss and two others pitched in yesterday.

  • Myself: Yesterday: Took the cleaning in , set up the book sale, came home and took a 2 hour nap.

  • Reading: Finished the new Pern. No review yet.

  • Gratitude’s: That compression stockings work, that my stomach did well during the convention, and that Zoe was such a charmer.
