Who is Wise Enough? in A New Beginning

Of the people you know in your life, who do you consider wise enough to give you advice?
This morning I posted a political rant on FB. This is something I don’t often do. There are already enough people on my side who do it; they do it well enough; I really don’t often have anything to add, AND, regardless of what I “should” be interested in, I am a lot less interested in politics than I am in mundane (low-brow! heehee!) things like “What am I cooking today?” or “What did I see when I went walking?”

Anyhow....I posted this political rant, and my sister Sandy (who generally makes a point of not talking to me about politics because she knows we are on opposite sides of that spectrum), quickly left me two comments. One, that if she were me she would keep very quiet. And two, yes she does believe that out of the people who ran, Trump is the best for the country.
I wasn’t mad. But I replied that it doesn’t say much good about this country, if I can’t speak freely and be safe. And I said that I know how she feels, but I don’t let politics come between me and people I love!

Then I moved on, doing other things, but not for long. I got to thinking. Do I reeeeaaaaally want to join the ranks of the many who squabble constantly about politics? Cuz I have a few friends who don’t seem to think about very many other things these days. Sometimes I wonder, “Gee, don’t they ever do anything else??” Well, the more you spend time thinking (or writing or talking) about something, the more it becomes a big part of your life!! So, I deleted the post. Then I called Sis to say that I really appreciated her advice!

Turns out, since my post had included a video clip of Dan Rather, Sis said that even though she knew HE wouldn’t read it, she had meant the “be quiet” for him! :o) haha! Well, I’m still glad for her advice to Dan Rather that I got! I didn’t really feel like arguing about politics with my FB friends today anyhow! :oD

I guess, getting back to my question “Who’s wise enough?,” for me, both of my sisters are wise enough. Neither is without a few mistakes (Carol, a good many in her lifetime), but I look at mistakes as being a way to learn. Joe can give me advice sometimes, and a very few of my Elders in our Assembly of the Sacred Wheel. My co-worker Sheila sometimes too. I’m not saying that I disregard or ignore everyone else, especially those younger than me, but those ones I just listened are the people I think have enough wisdom that oftentimes their advice is listened to or the things they do, emulated. Who do you learn from?

Oh, hey, guess what I actually DID do?? I WENT AND GOT MY HAIR CUT! Last year I skipped getting it cut altogether. Actually, I LIKE having my hair shoulder length; for some dumb reason I just hate going to get it cut. Sister Sandy is the same way; she says she has to be IN THE MOOD. And she wears her hair VERY short, and is bothered by it if it gets an inch longer than she likes it, so having to be IN THE MOOD is somewhat of a handicap! :o)
We three sisters all get our hair cut at the same place, Great Clips in Milford (DE), but we only have gone all together once because you can bet it’s rare for us to all be IN THE MOOD at the same time!

So, hmmmmm, what else? Oh, Carrie and Max are coming this weekend!! And be damned if Joey and Stephanie are hardly going to even see them this weekend, because Stephanie’s b’day is tomorrow and her family is having a big to-do on Saturday, and Joey has made plans to take her on a SUPER-adventure on Sunday......horseback riding followed by zip-lining! Fortunately, Carrie and Max are going to be here longer than just the weekend. Steph has Mondays off, and both Joes are putting in for Monday off, so MONDAY we can take a family trip to the beach on Monday!
