Work has been hella ugly, but we will get to that in another entry.

So the insurance.
While my brother and I were sitting in the dealership, it got to the point of we need insurance to drive off the lot. He says, let me call my guy. I said who are you with? He said Geico. I said hell no. Then relayed to him the time when I bought my first car how I went to Geico and my insurance payment was just as much as my car note. He thought he was doing something huge. So I gave my information and the guy was so confident that $332 was an excellent rate.

My brother did one of though laughs that’s not a laugh but he laughed like get the eff outta here. They’ve been sending me emails about this quote ever since.

Then we called a guy who the saleslady had his card on her desk. He was in the two hundreds and again, this is MORE than what my lease payment is.

So I was like, you know what?? Let me call MY guy. Which the office was closed because he is off at 5 and doesn’t work weekends. He emailed me back the next day and asked me to call him. We we spoke and he asked if I could get the VIN number that way the quote would be accurate. So once I got that, I got the quote, I notified my brother. He took all day getting back to me that when I called the insurance office at 4:30, no one was there and I was freaking out. My brother was leaving town the next day and I was sooo close.

I left a message and someone from the office called me back. Wasn’t my guy, but it was someone who works with him and that’s good enough. We spoke and after some information exchange she said she would call me back. Well, my dumb self put my phone back on vibrate so I missed her call. She said that to get the quote I got, which by the way is maybe $10 more than the lease payment, I have to be approved through an underwriter. She also said to call the 800# for the company.

When I got home I did make that call. I spoke to another helpful woman. What I needed to do was to show proof that I had been taking public transportation. I said I can do that and have a clean driving record for the past 3 years and I do. So I snapped a picture of the current June bus pass and realized I kept two more at work. I don’t even know why I kept them, though I think it was partially because they are not recyclable. I asked her if say in about an hour, can I go get shots of the other passes can she take care of what she needed to do. She said I’m here til 9 your time. BET! I got my daughter’s car and went BACK to my office took a picture of those and sent them to the person I was talking to.

The next phase of this was that I needed to call the underwriters the next day. The woman I spoke with said they would be open around 6, 6:30 am and that I should call. I was so anxious I couldn’t sleep that well. I woke up like I was going to work. I called and got someone in claims who sent me to someone working from home in Arizona. He was my life line. It was 4am in the morning where he was and he sounded every bit of tired. I told him the deal, he saw all the information, and all we needed was for the underwriters to be in the office. He called and there was no answer. So he said he would give me a call back.

The guy did call back to update me and I was starting to dread because the office still wasn’t answering. I didn’t know when my brother’s flight was leaving and he had just sent me a text. This was around 8 something. So I let him know that I was on the phone with them. So Insurance Man says that he will call back again. I decided to lay down and close my eyes a bit because I had been awake since 5. I still couldn’t sleep. I would feel myself drift, but I would be jarred awake by anxiety.

It was around 9:30 closing in on 10. I picked up my phone to call the 800# again when my phone rang again. Ins.Man had gotten in touch with the underwriters and I was approved. He said that was like a very rare insurance because some people say that they’ve not been driving but still have tickets and that I also provided proof of me riding the bus and that just doesn’t happen very often. I was thanking God for real. I had just said, Lord if this is supposed to be for me, then let this happen and if not, I won’t be upset. But I’m so glad it happened.

I thanked Ins. Man and everyone involved profusely! If he wasn’t married with kids, we’d have to make something happen even if for one night only. That’s how grateful I felt. Lol But seriously, we had conversation outside of the insurance stuff. We are around the same age, it was amazing service.

I got the transaction done and the rest is history.
I think Saturday and today were the only two days where I went out, but then once I was home I was home.

Actually today, after church, I came home and chilled. I need to sleep some more. I’ve been feeling a bit off. When I’m driving I feel like I’m in a daze and I need more rest. Work has been mentally taxing these days. But that’s another story for another day.

Take care my darlings. I’m going back to sleep.

Kindest regards,
Sister.
