Up, Down, All Around, Toot-TOOOOOOOT!! in A New Beginning

My life is busy. I used to say “too busy”! Joe and I started out having widely disparate desires and needs for out-of-the-house goings-on. I could have been a hermit, and Joe liked to go, go, GOOOO. Going, going, GOING was more fun with him because he was very good at being able to get us places safely and without getting us lost, among other things…but even so, he always liked GOING more than I did. I just got exhausted from too much of it, really! And not only that....whatever work there was for me to do at home was there waiting for me to do it when I got home!
But by now…our 38th year of marriage....while he’s still a bit ahead of me, I LOVE going, going, GOING. If I go all of a day without going ANYwhere, I might end up a little cranky or listless. I definitely feel like I’ve missed an important part of my day.
This might be part of my personal “Welcome to Senior Citizenship” stage. Maybe I’d rather burn out than fade away! :oD !! Maybe I realize that indeed, I WON’T be here for a whooooole lot longer, so DO THINGS! :o) !! Oh, and don’t be alarmed that I’ve just said “not for a whole lot longer.” I hope to live through my sixties and seventies. My side of the family hasn’t got a history of living into great old age, but even so, there’s several decades; that seems like a lot doesn’t it?
Not really! And I’m not being morbid at all. :o) !! But as we get older, for many of us Time just seems to FLY by! It’ll take me 20 years to get from 60 to 80, just as it took me to get from birth to 20. But it will fly by a lot faster! ;o)
So what I’m leading up to iiiiis.....I no longer say “I’ve been TOO busy.” If Joe and I are blessed to be able to live to a ripe old age, there will come a time when we don’t have nearly this much energy, and then we will “go” much less. :o)
Today we bought a new pool! YES! The one we’ve been using for the past 3-4 years was bigger than we needed, and couldn’t be left out and water-filled year ‘round. It was soft-sided and not the kind that has a frame around it. What Joe got today is 14’ around, 32” deep and has a frame. We can just cover it up for the winter, I guess. We gave the biiiiiiig one to Joey and Stephanie, who were delighted to have it.
We really need rain here, but all we get is a couple drops here and a couple drops there!! It was less than a month ago when it was raining every darn day and everything was soggy! But since then it has been extremely H-O-T and now everything’s getting mighty crispy!
