Where Does YOUR Compassion Lay its Head? in Day by Day

I should be working on the agenda for tonight’s meeting. I should be preparing for the final budget class with my kids in the non-profit. I should be doing a dozen other things.

Instead, I am trying to control my blood pressure with little success.

I hear the cries of those children, locked into cages in their WalMart concentration camps. My heart breaks for the unresponsive child who will speak to no one and curls up in a ball. I wince that there are no toys. I am incensed by “caretakers” who won’t touch the children and mock their cries. I am disgusted that ANY woman would condone this practice. I cannot sleep. I toss and turn and have nightmares.

The attempts to blame Congress and snarky suggestions to make a change in a NON-EXISTENT LAW or to insinuate that Democrats had a hand in this is disingenuous at best. This sucker is on the CAP (formerly known as the GOP but now known as the Child Abuse Party) and the people who condone/defend harming children to put pressure on parents. DISGUSTING.

So what can you do besides “complain to the government” or “live with it” (as one less-than-informed PBer suggested)? My choice was to visit Kiva.com and loan money to two women from Central America.

There is nothing wrong with entry quotas and turning people away. There is EVERYTHING wrong with traumatizing children while you are doing it. We knew they were coming and did not make preparations. To read others who condone this practice, saying “well, they shouldn’t have come” turns my stomach. It’s okay to treat the children cruelly because “they shouldn’t have come”? Really? Do you understand this atrocity now feeds terrorist hatred? You gave them just cause to hate us with your silence or defense.

A son of a facebook friend said “they broke the rules” and I was sickened, because I know that boy is a pothead. I don’t care that he smokes (it should be legal), but to think yourself better while your hands are just as unclean disgusts me.

So, yeah, my blood pressure is sky high. It will not go down until those children are reunited SAFELY with their parents. If you don’t agree, I don’t care. Move on and don’t waste my time. You have no heart.

This is not about political party. This is about the abuse of children. If you can’t understand that, I pity you.
