Looking up words. in A small but passable life.

One year ago yesterday here was a record high temperature of 118 degrees. Yesterday? Only 103 degrees. Supposed to be 108 today.

But hey, there has always been a certain class of humans that has waged ‘war’ on children. Always.

A law was necessary in France to keep children under the age of eight out of factories.

The Christians burned children alive.

The US government snatched Native children away from families.

The US government kills children every day to this day.

The list of atrocities and abuses could go on and on with examples of cruelty from all over the world. Apparently it’s in the nature of the human species.
