We turned right at Newport, OR. Highway 20 led east across the state. We drove across I-5. We drove across the Willamette river. We drove over the Cascades. We drove across the Pacific Crest Trail. We drove into Bend with the Three Sisters looking on. We checked into the motel at 3pm.

I found a good place for Mom’s Mother’s Day dinner, a pretty nice place right on the Deschutes river. Mom ate all of her 8oz. filet mignon and baked tator. I had some kind of asparagus stuffed chicken. It was our most expensive meal yet on this trip- $65.

All in all a good day.
