Back to 'normal'. in A small but passable life.

Well yeah, a ‘normal’ day. A day without interruption in routine.

Coffee this morning. Finished reading “Alan Turing: The Enigma” by Andrew Hodges. I’d been reading that one for quite awhile. I kept putting it aside to read other books.

That was book number nine (9) for the year. Four non-fiction and five novels.

I sorted through stuff, trying to decide what to pack for the road trip. I believe I can get by with just my daypack. I’m going to take my hiking pants (it’s been a year since I’ve worn long pants!). I may not need them. I’m also going to take my fleece jacket and new sneakers (I’ve only worn a couple of times) and my new hiking boots (I’ve only worn once). And that means taking one pair of fat hiking socks and one pair of ankle socks. I’ll take an extra pair of boxers, one extra bandana, and one extra T-shirt. I’ll wear my hiking shorts and favorite Hawaiian shirt and fedora. I’ll also take my lounge/pajama pants and cotton T-shirt and flip-flops.

I figure if need anything else I can buy it.

All my shower/shaving/pool gear will go in my pool/shower bag. (Will I need the towel?)

Yeah, keep it light and simple.

I laid down in the afternoon and listened to NPR.

I baked some pork chops for dinner. With baked beans and peas.

I took Mom up to the activity center to play with her friends. I’ll go retrieve her at 8pm.

The dirt was blowing again this afternoon.

I’m hoping tomorrow will be a repeat of today, with maybe a lie-about the pool substituted for the lie-about here in this room.

Nine days and a wake up to go.
