Monday morning and I could hear the rain out side from my warm bed, I took my time getting ready for the day, it worked fine as when I took the dog’s out it was ‘not’ raining; I couldn’t say it was dry not raining seemed right! After they had finished breakfast, about one minute from full bowl to empty, I took Ziggy first and it was nearly raining – that cool breeze with a feel of approaching rain, Lola was out in the rain; looking at what was a lawn it was plane to see it had rained through the night. Lola looked at the sad muddy patch for a moment, she must have thought ‘I’ve dun all I need to – I’m of inside’ and she turned about and we were retracing our rout across the patio.
Our weather seems to be in-tune with the forecast, February following in the foot steeps of January, at least it is mild we will have to make do with the endless rain. I went into Truro, a few things I wanted, what I really got was wet, one item I needed seeing to was my hair. I made my way to my usual barbers through the heavy rain thinking it might busy, it is often but not this time, I walked in to find my self alone for a few moments, then from the back came the girl who took on my locks before Christmas. I was pleased with her cutting last time, this time between chatting she fashioned my hair more to my liking, when I paid I gave a tip [no it wasn’t ‘don’t forget your umbrella] and asked her name, Rebecca; so next time I know who to ask for! My recently new longer coat was very good as far as it went, which is just above my knees, from my hair to my knees I was comfortable dry and warm, at my knees the rain ran down my coat and then continued down my trousers starting at my knees, you can get fed-up with rain – I have!
A wet day in Truro …….
That's Cornwall flowing away in the river!
Tuesday we had a fine morning with sunshine, after lunch the rain retuned. To night we didn’t get to collage, we didn’t get as far as the Newquay road, as I came round a corner a car coming the other way had full lights on, thankfully I eased of, then to late I saw part of a tree in front of the car, braked hard but hit it; part of the screen gave as a branch punched a hole. I think the full lights were a worning, but I couldn’t see past the light!! I got round the branch and puller over to look at the damage, my quick look round seem it was just the screen, so we tuned round a retuned home. There in better light I looked round again, I cant see a scratch or a dent, the car felt ok on our slow journey back; so I’m hopping there is nothing I’ve missed. Tomorrow will be spent tying to get the screen replaced, I’m just thankful no one was hurt …..
