Pretty Shitty in fact in Watching Life Fly By

I had “allergies” or an upper respiratory deal going on last week or so. I went to urgent care last Tuesday because I was gagging and having trouble breathing. My throat was swollen almost shut from “allergies.” I have never had allergies like that, but okay. I was given a steroid shot and told to keep doing things such as use a vaporizer, use vapor rub and take allergy medications. That was Tuesday- the shot was a miracle drug and I was 80% better within 15 minutes. We had snow days Monday/Tuesday. Went to work Wednesday and was great. Ate dinner and was sick within 5 minutes. I ended up preventing myself from throwing up, but had diarrhea for hours and was sweaty and nauseous. I couldn’t eat anything without insane diarrhea from Wednesday at dinner on. Thursday I went to my primary care doctor who is tied to urgent care. He said I had a stomach virus and it should be gone within a few days. He said most people were getting a 24hr thing. He said no Imodium or other anti-diarrhea medications, fluids and rest. I did that. Sunday (last night) I was so dizzy because I still couldn’t eat 1 cracker without 2hrs of bathroom visits that I asked my husband to take me to the ER. I had tests run, was given fluids and potassium because I was dehydrated and had low potassium. I was there for about 6hrs. I left with instructions to take just enough Imodium to eat some healthy foods and get nutrients in me with smaller amounts of diarrhea. He said not to stop myself up completely. I was told to take a probiotic and to see my primary care doctor Wednesday if I am still sick. He said he is hoping I’ll at least be improving by then and possibly back to work by the end of the week. I have made an early afternoon appointment with my doctor for Wednesday but it is supposed to snow Wednesday. I’m secretly hoping for a Wednesday snow day just to save a sick day. I only have a few left for the rest of the school year.
I am keeping a gut diary right now. Everything I eat/drink and how often I am in the bathroom.
I am going to make a specialist appointment this summer to get a colonoscopy and endoscopy. I feel like I get too many stomach viruses and they last way too long and are too severe to be typical. I need to be examined. I’m worried I have colitis or something else equally as gross and disruptive.
Obviously things have not been going well. I’d dare say they are pretty shitty.
