The kids had Friday off from school. We spent the long weekend in Ohio visiting my aunt and uncle. We had a nice time. We went out for dinner at an old-style diner with a jukebox. We went to visit relatives that we had not seen in a while. My cousin is an assistant coach for a high school basketball team, and we went to one of his games.

We had planned on taking my aunt and uncle to a college basketball game on Saturday night. When we got there I realized that I had forgotten to pack the tickets. Oops. I found out that it would cost less to send the tickets overnight delivery to myself than it would to buy new tickets. I had my mom send them priority mail at the post office. I had never received a letter by priority mail, and it made me feel somewhat important. I checked online and saw that the letter had been processed through the main sorting center. The letter was guaranteed to be there by three in the afternoon or they would refund the money. Because my aunt and uncle don't get their mail until afternoon, I thought the letter wouldn't arrive until later in the day. But it got there at 11:30 in the morning. I guess priority mail comes directly from the main sorting center and doesn't go to the local post office.

Otherwise not too much has been going on. The kids had open house at their school this past week, and the sixth graders helped out quite a bit. Kayla and Timmy each wrote a paragraph about what their school means to them. They had an assembly with another school in the area.

We have also been reading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. It is quite a bit different from the earlier two Harry Potter books we read before. Harry is growing up. I recorded some shows to watch. I watched the show Helix last night. I also recorded the movie the Manchurian Candidate. I have seen the newer version of this movie but never the 1960s version. I also recorded a Columbo movie.
