Or not. in A small but passable life.

I finished reading “Apes and Angels” by Ben Bova today. That is the third book in the series. I don’t know if series is the right word. All the books could stand alone, if need be, but still follow a main story.

The last three days were basically the same routine. Coffee and reading in the morning, lying by the pool and listening to NPR in the afternoon, and dinking on the laptop in the evening.

I’ve heard there is weather some places other than here. Here it has been 80 degrees everyday and around the high 50 degrees at night. This morning at 8am it was 60 degrees.

It was cloudy with some rain today, but still almost 80 degrees.

Tomorrow I’ve got to take Mom to Nikki’s for a permanent. And that means I get to go to the nearby Goodwill store. And then she wants to go to the fabric store which means I’ll get to browse another Goodwill store.

I received my new Arizona driver’s license in the mail. And I noticed it is valid for only one year. And I paid $10 for it. I don’t know if that is standard or if there are other options. Whatever.

I’ve already got the fourth Ben Bova book ready to start in the morning. The new John Irving is here in the pile by my chair. And there is another non-fiction waiting for me to pick up at the library, by the 15th. I’ve only read five books this year. I should pick up the pace a bit.

Reminder to self: Don’t use the pocket knife to whittle away calluses from the feet. That also goes for moles, skin tags, ect.

So yeah, life is life.

Could be better, could be worse.

Could even care, or not.
