Thoughts On...Coke's Beautiful Commercial
I find it hilarious that so many of the people who are outraged by the Coke commercial that aired during the Super Bowl think that America The Beautiful is the national anthem.
That is what should outrage people! I found the Coke commercial beautiful and a testament to the guiding principal of America! We are a melting pot, we are free to believe and worship whom and what we want. We are a safe haven. America is beautiful because of all of that.
What makes America ugly is the ignorance of so many people who do not think before they speak. Who are too ignorant to not know that America the Beautiful is NOT the national anthem. Who are too ignorant to NOT remove their hats unless they are told when the anthem is sung. Who are too ignorant to use proper spelling & English.
Those are my thoughts on that.
Thoughts on....Sickness
I hate people who come to work sick. Who come and cough and sniffle and enter my office. Why not just lick my face and save a few steps? Just use your fucking sick time and stay home. Your work will get done or it will wait for you. But if you do come to work, don't keep telling me how sick you are. Believe me I know, I can hear you snorking up all that snot.
Thoughts on...Death
More specifically the Death of OD. We knew it was coming. The DM knew it was coming, so why wait until the last minute to let people know? Also, why not open up the PDF function to allow people to get their diaries in a format that is fucking readable? Why be such a dick about the whole thing? I haven't been able to write an entry for a couple of months. The editor never fully loaded no matter if I was on IE or Chrome or even Safari. It didn't matter if I was on the laptop, the desktop, work, iPad, etc.
Never an update on a Facebook page or via Twitter. No messages on the opening page when you were able to load it. Nothing. Le sigh....
Thoughts on...the Olympics
I question why the US is sending a contingent to the games in Sochi. I know they keep saying the athletes will be safe and they are sending FBI & I think a warship, but still. I know the honor is huge, to be an olympian, but is it worth the risk of death? For some reason I am not looking forward to these games as much as I usually do. I LOVE the Winter Games more than the Summer ones, but this just doesn't feel right to me.
Also, the NHL is going on a huge break and I hate that. I still hate that the US caved and pros now make up the contingent. The Games were supposed to showcase the best amateurs. Which leads to...
Thoughts on...the past
I have been thinking a lot about the past and while I don't want to relive all of it, there are some things that I would like to come back in style. Most notably, media that didn't sensationalize assholes like Bieber, Kardashians, Dennis Rodman. To go back to a time where news reported news and people said, "Show Biz Tonight" instead of "S-B-T". Even better if we didn't have Show Biz Tonight.
A time when musicians were talented and didn't have to rely on showing their crotches to the world. When companies realized that they didn't have to sell lubricant on television. When impotence wasn't a main stream media blitz. A time when they actually used focus groups when making commercials.
And for the love of all, a time when the fucking IRS doesn't text you at 3:00 a.m. telling you your return was accepted!
