More good stuff... in At the foot of the hill

Before 2017 is filed away into history, I wanted to add a couple more things to the record. Dec. 31 was a day full of surprises…all good.
Early in the morning I was contacted on FB by the daughter of my best friend in college. Friend is visiting said daughter for a couple of weeks, just up the road 50 or so miles and, according to daughter, wondered if we might get together for lunch. Haven’t seen her for lots of years. Of course! Just tell me when and where. Daughter phoned me later in the day and we set this Friday for the meeting. And she (daughter) is willing to drive all the way down here to the southwest corner of the metro. I said we’d be glad to meet them half-way but she insisted. I am so looking forward to this reunion.
And then, just before we were going to go down to the lobby for our building’s residents New Years Eve party, I got a email from Mike. In my last entry I mentioned he’d been doing some song writer’s workshops. Well, he was informed yesterday one of the songs he collaborated on during the last workshop has been selected to receive a gold award from the Mid-Atlantic Songwriters Association. The Awards presentation will be held in Washington on Jan. 21. I told him I was free that day…he hasn’t answered my email. LOL
