Gold & Rainbows - DePhoMo 8 in General Mental Anesthesia

I remember when you wrote that. It reminds me of when I lost my mum's gold signet ring. She'd had this ring made out of a ring that her mother wore (it was melted down to make 2 rings for her and her sister after granny died). It was too small for her finger eventually so she had it cut off and soldered and gave it to me.

I wore it avidly on my pinky then one day realised it wasn't there. It was around the time Nikki was moving into a new house and I'd helped her with getting the place set up. It could literally be anywhere.

We searched in vain and were at the point of getting the wheelie bin in to empty it out and sift through the rubbish when we realised the binmen had already been and emptied it!

I resigned myself to its fate and cursed myself but I kept asking my Dad to help me find it (he's been dead many years).

Fast forward a year, Nikki is now moving back in with me as she's pregnant. Again I help her and we were doing an inventory of the house - I was checking the list and she was checking the actual items. We swapped over at the last minute and I cleared out a walk in cupboard in her kitchen. She was going to leave some items, one of which was a bag full of plastic carrier bags. Something made me decide to take them home and as I lifted the bag off its hook, something rolled onto the floor (the only part of the house without carpet). Nikki hadn't heard it but I did - only just.

There was the ring.

I actually cried I was so delighted to see it!😊
