Col’ blimey this morning was a bit of a jolt.

5 am wake up to get dressed and race to the car. 3 hour drive straight east with a few stop offs for gas, breakfast, and stretching the legs. 45 minute interview that… well, could have gone better, but it is what it is. They are looking for someone to do Felonies… I didn’t do felonies as a Prosecutor. THOUGH… I have prosecutor experience so that should help me out. We’ll just see what happens. Got back in the car. 3 hour drive straight west with a stop off for gas and a stop off for fuel. Arrived at the office at 12:40. Instantly started working. Called a client, reviewed filing, filed some work for White Boss. Doing lawyer work isn’t bad. Then… Chinese Boss… and Immigration Cases… and Chinese Clients. Not a fan. More proof that… being a lawyer I am fine with. Being an immigration lawyer? I don’t wanna.

Wrestled with an Immigration Law Petition that needed revision. “Crime, Corruption, and China” was too vague and unspecific. I needed to shore it up and speak uniquely about Usury Abuse, Corruption, and Torture. It took longer than expected. Longer than it should have.

Then… I had to slip out again (under the cover of run away) for my Consumer Advocacy Board interview. That job seems… not like my speed? I mean… it is data analysis from a legal perspective? In every way imaginable… I doubt SUPER DUPER that I’ll be getting an offer on this job. But it was still good to go there. Meet new attorneys, learn about something… and besides… when an attorney whose position requires a SENATE CONFIRMATION HEARING calls you, you answer!

I got back to the office and.... everyone was gone. It was only 4:40. I hope Chinese Boss didn’t think I just left early. But large parts of me also kind of don’t care. So there’s that. lol.

Now… even though I’ve only done 2.8 hours of billable work today… bringing my weekly total to 20.5… I should be off. MBFITWW is here for a Lawyer CLE and I think it would be rude to keep him waiting.

One more interview to do. Next week. I’m… kind of ambivalent. Like I told the Consumer Board… I am just looking for stability these days. Unlike my bosses… I’m not looking to conquer the world or get fabulously wealthy. I want a job. I want my weekends. I want a house. That is the goal right now.
