Being too busy. in Soul Journey

.
“I have been so busy, I haven’t had time…” I found in my case it was a default mechanism.
We use it to escape stuff. How many times do you say, “Sorry I am just too busy”.
Some of us use that phrase as a badge of honour.
It can actually mean that you are not good at prioritizing. You don’t want to say no. Which actually comes from a fear of not being accepted.

“I can’t be seen to be letting people down.” This can come out of a belief system.
Or it can be a response to the thought of acceptance. When the two are mixed together, acceptance and a strong belief system it can become toxic.

“If I do this these people will like me more” and this one “I am doing it for God”.
I found that this usually goes back to a critical parent. We hold on to those parental perceptions that are formed when we are so young. As childish as this sounds a lot of folk walk this journey all their lives. It gets to the point that it becomes imbedded in our psych and we have a very hard time recognising it for what it is.

It can also be a way of ‘filling your life with so much stuff’ so you can ward off loneliness and escaping from spending time with ourselves. finding out who we really are.

In my experience Church became contagious culture. It sat on top of my personality and dictated to how I should behave and form my thought patterns. I praise God I came out of church twenty odd years ago. I have seen its destructive force in close friends. Some of them are still coming to terms with who they are. It can be cultish.

It can destroy critical thinking and yet no one was more critical of their culture, than Jesus himself. That is the irony of Churchianity. Not Christianity, which is something altogether different.

Since I really began to walk with Christ outside the church, I go to the church I go to for the scriptural teaching. I do not go for the manmade legalism that so many have.

life does get very busy at times, and I like you mentioned 'priorities' because my credo is that I never want to be too busy for family and friends, whatever I am doing. As for one's faith, that is what sustains me too but not so much about 'going to a church' but about living the life with daily personal devotions, and gathering with others of like mind as much as I can.

Nice to hear from you again....take care and stay happy, hugs p
