I’ve been quiet lately as prep for the Holidays has been intense. I’m doing the Mashed Potatoes this year for 11 people and my in laws are staying with us. Plus Wife’s holiday hours have kicked in, so she doesn’t get a moment’s peace. Came home really mad that she is the only employee in her department that doesn’t get a single weekend day off for the next 3 months. Everyone else gets a “rotating” weekend day because they cited religious reasons or academic reasons. As the individual who didn’t demand Sunday for Worship or a “Homework Day” she is the one tapped to cover the weekends. So that plus not having a day off to celebrate Thanksgiving at all bothers her. So I’ve been busy with that.
Plus work. In two days, I’ve already amassed 16 hours! I’ve been busy. So, imagine my deep petrified concern when, while I am speaking with Muse about a case… we hear the office’s front door open with extreme noise. And (from a good 40 feet away) we hear Chinese Boss screaming a string of profanities at the top of her voice. To her husband, the other partner. And the profanities get louder as they come down the hall. And continue as they go into their office. And continue as they shut the door. Chinese Boss… just shouting… at the top of her lungs. The only three words I can make out are “fuck” “problems” and “tell.” It was… intense. Scary. Caused my heart rate to spike. Worrying.
