Another new routine? in A small but passable life.

Has it already been a year since America vomited up this so-called president? A little over one thousand days left to survive the stupidity. We may make it.
Someone I’ve been reading here and before on OD has emptied out her diary, but kept the diary. I shouldn’t worry but I do because of her health issues.
People come and sometimes they go. I’m still amazed though at how much mere words can attach such meaning between people that in real life would probably never meet.
I’ve been reading people for years that I still do not know their given name. And it doesn’t really matter because I’ve always imagined them as their diary name.
Yesterday was a nice relaxing day. After my morning coffee I replaced the batteries in Mom’s scooter with the ones that were in it when she bought it. The others are dead. I’d left them charging all night and when I removed them I tested them with the multi-meter. Dead. Both of them.
I cleaned out the last two cabinets here in the sewing room so Mom could sort more crap. She gave me the largest of them for my goosedown sleeping bag in its storage bag. Thanks Mom! It wouldn’t fit in the new under-the-bed box.
After a lunch of leftovers I headed to the pool. I found my old flip phone. It has a radio in it. I found my $5 Koss headphones. Now I can listen to NPR while lying at the pool instead of while lying in bed all afternoon like I’ve done most every afternoon for the past six months.
It was overcast and 79 degrees. Let’s call it a Fall day in the desert.
Today, this morning, Mom has an appointment with her lung doctor. I thought she was through with that. I guess not.
Mom said we could buy a new large toolbox to consolidate all the little tool boxes. Daughter had brought two of my tool boxes and after I sorted and gave her all the duplicate tools she left the tool boxes here.
I called my little brother. Well, my sis-in-law, but he answered her phone. They are in San Diego at her sister’s place. He said they are parked up on a mountain in a free spot with free hookups in El Cajon. And he said they may stay a week, two weeks, or maybe a month or more before coming back this way.
Yep, that’s the way this family rolls.
Anyway, I’ve got fifteen minutes to finish this third and last cup of coffee and load Mom up and get this day rolling.
