I’ve seen a lot of people doing NoJoMo, but haven’t seen any challenges like there used to be at OD. I’m assuming there isn’t such a thing over here?
I finally submitted my tax return last night. I had been putting it off because of the huge tax bill that I didn’t understand, but I drilled down into it and it turns out the entire thing is student loan, which is fine. I did think it was income tax which I was annoyed about as I had already paid income tax on everything. But when I got the money from Jay’s pension, they took income tax from that, but not student loan payments. So I have to pay that now. It’s £1,400 which is huge, but I’ll just take it off the money I got from Jay’s pension, so it was never really mine in the first place, and at least it will take a chunk off my student loan!
I’ve listed some of Jay’s clothes on eBay. When I was sorting through the house, I found a whole bunch of suits, jackets, trousers and shoes that he had never worn. I have no idea how long he had them for but they still had the labels on; a pair of shoes with a £60 price tag and a suit jacket with £120 tag, among other things. So I’ve stuck them on eBay, hopefully I should get some cash from that lot. This is part of the reason he had so much debt; buying clothes and never wearing them, or wearing them twice and giving them to charity.
I’ve had some time to do these sorts of things because things have calmed down a lot, I’m not constantly busy and rushing around anymore like I have been for the whole of the last year, so I can finally start to make a dent in my “long term” to-do list, which is great. I might even have time to go back to roller derby properly and train for the 10k which I’ve decided I’m entering in May :o)
This is the start of week three of the 5:2 diet, in the last two weeks I’ve lost 3lb, which isn’t a huge amount but hey, at least the numbers are going down.
