My New Guardian in Everyday Ramblings

This was yesterday just after work. And vacuuming the living room. And taking the beets I had roasting out of the oven. No doubt about what season it is here.

Most Honorable came up this morning to see the cats (who adore him) and drop off the stuff I packed in advance for the beach trip. I took him over to the track to show him the miraculous trajectory of the sedan that flew 15 feet in the air, missing a tree stump and a guard rail and traveling through the six month old electronic scoreboard to land on the new artificial turf. The track was barely touched.

This happened sometime Tuesday (Halloween) night. The driver had a seizure and his foot pushed on the gas as he was coming around the corner. The car went through the middle of the scoreboard missing by inches two steel supporting posts.

It is a freaking miracle that no one was hurt. Including the driver who was bruised and had a sore ankle and walked away.

It is such an amazing story and such a relief to hear some good news.

In reference to my previous post, my former therapist sent out an email this afternoon, once again apologizing, copping to a male hierarchical perspective and resigning from the Zen Center he founded. He is running away.

But apparently there was also a bit of a push from his female students too.

My heartfelt feeling about all this is it is about bloody time, all this news and all these resignations. I am sad that so many women have experienced so much bad behavior and I am sure they’ll be a backlash. For instance, tweets from poor beleaguered predators who are being marginalized and not given the opportunities for recognition and advancement that they so richly deserve.

I know some potholes that need to be fixed.
I am just sayin’…

And I understand the moon has some pretty big craters that could use a good fill job.

I heard this great quote about anger this week. “Anger is the emotional guardian of our boundaries.”

This is so interesting because about, gosh, nine years ago I read five books suggested by the Zen group on anger from a Buddhist perspective and my take away was, yes, we all experience anger but how we express it is where skillful discernment comes into play.

Today, with all the cruel and hurtful policies our government is implementing under the leadership of the predator-in-chief I think I prefer the idea of a nice big fierce terrifying female deity patrolling my boundaries with a watchful eye and an arsenal of creative weaponry that neutralizes the encroachment with compassion and understanding but removes the possibility for future predatory behavior for all possible lifetimes ahead.

How about that gorgeous full moon setting this morning, eh?

I am thrilled about the time change this weekend here in the U.S. That extra hour is feeling pretty darn luxurious.

Mostly I just wanted to share our rainbow. :)
