New Month in New Diary

Well Friday didn't go exactly as planned. We had planned to take a cab out to Gumby's to buy cigars; The cab was supposed to pick us up at one. We sat outside for about an hour and no cab. Oh well. We will take a very long bus ride today get and have us drop us off at Gumby's. We plan to walk up to Tudors and have a cup of coffee then go to the library and wait for the bus home.

I spent a lot of money Friday I spent around $48 on cleaning supplies at Wal Mart. Then when we got home I paid Rent A Center and Aarons. Then I bought an ebook. I ordered pizza from Papa Johns for supper. I think I spent almost $200 yesterday. But I got my bills paid and a couple of books to read I will have everything I don't mind being broke.

I had a good evening. I did a lot of reading. I am reading Rise and Fall of the Third Reich by William L Shirer It is a good book but so very long Anyway I was at the part at the turning point of World War II. Rommel was defeated at El Alamein. It was the second battle fought in September where the Germans suffered a very heavy defeat. Rommel was forced to disengage. Then on t he Russian Front Hitler was trying to capture Stalingrad and the Soviet oilfields in the Caucasus mountain range. Theses campaigns were going very badly. Then allied forces landed in French West Africa. Hitler didn't know it yet but this was when things were turning against him.

Like I said I bought another book yesterday. Name of the books is D-Day The Battle for Normandy by Anthony Beevor. It seems to be a good book.

I really don't want to go out today. But we are in for another artic blast this week. Saturday the temperatures are suppose to be in the 40s This is probably the best day to go out.

Life is good.

9:46pm I had a wonderful day.GF and I took the 12:32 bus. We were heading for Gumby's which is at the other end of town. I thought we would be in for a long ride through town but the driver brought us right down to the place. At first he stopped at Krogers and to our surprise an old friend of ours got on the bus. GF and Michelle talked about old times. We got to our destination and said our goodbyes then bought our cigars. I was going to buy a carton of Basic but found it was way too expensive. I bought three cartons of Deans full flavored cigars for only $36.998.

It was a beautiful day outside and we went for a long walk to Tudors besides Krogers. We had a sort of breakfast lunch. GF had to drop off a prescription so we went to Krogers then walked up to the bus stop by the library. I have arthritis and by then my hips were starting to hurt. But I felt so good. I felt even better knowing we did not have to wait too long for a bus ride back home.

It was great to get out and even greater to get back home. Called Gf and we came up to our place. We had a nice long talk. There is this mutual friend who lives in the building. He always bums cigars from gf. He gave her two pack today but he owes her a lot more than two packs. Anyway we were talk9ing about that and she said she is not going to give him anymore cigars She just can't afford to do that. I reminded her that he has family that can take him places. It is not easy for us to get out on our own and buy cigars. I also said I am glad she is cutting him off.

We were not all that hungry. We had leftovers for supper at girlfriend's apartment. We went to my place and we watched the news and talked Gf went home and I spent the evening watching documentaries on Netflix.

It really felt good walking again even though I was hurting like hell. Life is good
