people make curses out of pooping
people make curses out of peeing
people make curses out of the simple act of sex
but those things are happening all the time
those things have always been happening all the time
if those things stopped happening all of the time
there wouldn’t be a human race left to curse at all
pooping or peeing or having the sex
if they’re curses at all in many manner
those should be the mildest curses of all
now God damning someone
to say goddamned “goddamn”
that is a curse I can really get behind
I use “goddamn” so much not because it’s a weaker curse
rather because it is the strongest I can possibly imagine
goddamn is invisible imaginary impossible monster-thing
torturing you for all of eternity
the stars will go out with goddamn you’ll still be tortured
the seas will melt away you’ll still be getting poked with sticks
burning forever at the behest of ghoulish and eldritch confections
to “goddamn” something is to wish
an order to the universe that is almost certainly not there and then
magic after that and then
for the universe to be specifically mean to whatever you’re mad about
that’s pretty hardcore
that’s pretty goddamn metal
that’s a walk in the park compared to shitting or pissing
how could fucking be vulgar in any way when compared to that?
I mean, goddamn
goddamn
