Three Weeks Already and I was wrong in Public

Just finished my third week teaching at the new school. So far I am loving it! The kids are great, just a few on my radar for behavior and not completing work. But overall, a giant improvement from last year. this school is on top of it. They have an actual school wide behavior plan. They support us as teachers and listen. Once I get everything graded from this week and enter grades I’m going to have to make a few phone calls about students failing due to not completing their work. I spent about an hour grading tonight and got about half of what I need to get done done.
I hated to do it, but I took Thursday as a sick day. My youngest son was sick on Monday and I got what he had. I started feeling sick on Wednesday and by Thursday morning I knew I couldn’t go in. I felt somewhat better today so I went in, but I am wiped out. Heading to bed after I write this. I am hoping I will be completely well by Monday. I had four kids absent in my homeroom today, so it’s going around.
I was wrong about my Hubby’s job. I was worried this new job wasn’t going to be as much as he was making at the previous job. As of yesterday he made as much in the month of September as he would have made all month at the old job. I guess I was just stressed out and worried because the old job ripped him off out of three weeks pay. That resulted in him hardly getting any income in August. Luckily I have already been paid twice since starting work, so it worked out. I’m still worried about having enough for the winter and Christmas since his company doesn’t work in the winter. He is saying he may have the option to go to Florida to work for a month in the winter. Not sure I want him gone that long, but we will do what we have to. His company also wants him to take some classes this winter to get some certifications. They will pay for it, and I guess he is the only one they are asking. He is doing well and joking with his bosses who are the owners.
Things are going well. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. I’m used to struggling and having things not work out. Maybe it’s finally our time.
My only complaint, which really isn’t a complaint because I haven’t really been trying is my weight loss is stalled. I’m not gaining though, so that is good, just staying the same. We have been eating out a lot though and I haven’t been exercising or even getting my 10,000 steps. I know what to do, I’v done it before, I just can’t seem to get into the groove. It’s just being lazy and poor food choices. I am proud of myself tonight though. Hubby had gotten Taco Bell before he went to a meeting and had it waiting for me when I got home from work. I didn’t eat one of the tacos he got me because I was full. Lots of times I would have jut eaten it because it was in front of me. Then at 8, he decided to cook a pizza and I didn’t have any because I wasn’t hungry. Yeah, I know I still had Taco Bell, which isn’t ideal, but I didn’t overeat, and I didn’t have pizza.
My daughter was in town last weekend, we went to Ross to look for a dress for the wedding I am going to next month. We went to a different one than I normally go to and they didn’t have anything. Nothing that I even wanted to try on. So I am still dress-less. Hubby said he will go with me this weekend to our Ross and see what they have.
I’ve been thinking about Halloween costumes too. Last year we decided to go out last minute and I ended up with a flapper dress and Hubby went as a gangster. We go out to a bar party so I want to slut it up lol. I have these thigh high black boots that are like new that I picked up from a rummage sale. I want something that I can wear them with. I was thinking maybe we could go as pirates, I don’t know. I’ve been looking online at costumes, but I hate ordering stuff like that without being able to try it on. I was also thinking it would be good to get something that I could reuse at the Renn Faire next summer. We go every year but never dress up for it.
