Sick days and staying positive in Musings

It has been a rough week and it’s only Wednesday. Leah came down with pink eye the end of last week. I mistakenly thought it would go away on its own but that was not the case. It spread to the other eye and her throat and one ear. Poor baby. I finally got her in to the doctor and she was well enough to go to school today. But of course Alex caught it and I had to get her to the doctor earlier today. I’m tired. But here’s some highlights of my life recently just to stay positive:

-Monday was my birthday and my grandmother-in-law came and watched the girls so Nathan and I could go out which was so nice.
-We went to the liquor store while we were out and I got carded! It was my 31st birthday. The guy was surprised. “You do NOT look 31” Which I actually get a lot. I used to hate looking young but it’s nice now.
-My sister-in-law gave us her ukulele because she hardly used it. So I’m learning to play it. I have never really played an instrument besides a few basics on the piano. Nathan (he can play everything) has been helping and I’ve been watching YouTube tutorials. It’s fun and relaxing.
-I’m teaching the 3 & 4 year olds in Wednesday night church. I love it both for getting to work with kids and for spending time with the other workers. The preschool director and I were already casual friends but are becoming closer. I need those sorts of connections as a stay at home mom.
-Work is picking up and I’m loving it more and more lately. For a while I was burnt out but I’m getting over the hump. There’s more I want to add to the shop but I still only have so much time in the day.
-The weather has been lovely lately. (Though it is supposed to warm up a bit soon boo) In the evenings after dinner we sit on the porch and watch the girls play. It always makes me thankful for my life.
