My daughter is 3. She has a regular sitter and she has an occasional sitter. The occasional sitter is a senior in high school (17yrs old). She’s amazingly sweet, smart and athletic. She is the only person my daughter has felt instantly comfortable with in addition to her current full-time sitter.
Yesterday Briana, her parents and her sister were on their way to a college football game. They were involved in a 3 car collision caused by a drunk driver. He was speeding in a work zone, hit another car head on and caused them to hit as well (not sure exactly how they all hit/who hit who). He had crossed the yellow line in a curve.
Meg (older sister) was banged up and bruised but not seriously injured. She was sent to a local hospital while her parents and Bri were med flighted. Their father had surgery and has several broken bones but will recover. Their mother will be having surgery today to clean out debris in her leg. Their mother was with Bri most of the afternoon/night and their father was brought in after surgery to see her. Their older brother was able to see her. Bri was then removed from life support.
I’m beyond heart broken. All I can do is hug my daughter a little tighter each time she lets me near her for a cuddle.
