A week and a half before China, and I went and lost my wallet last night. I think it fell from the pram after a stressful drive (Audrey still travels awfully in the car. The sad, distressed cries!). Dave drove back after we realised it was lost and searched everywhere to no avail. Normally I’d give it a few days to try and recover it, but we fly in a just over a week, so I’ve had to reorder all of my cards and hope they arrive in time. No doubt the wallet will turn up once I’ve wasted hours sorting new licences etc.
Meanwhile, why is it that when one attempts to report cards as lost they’re expected to provide the card numbers. I don’t have the card and I sure as hell don’t have the record keeping skills to tell you the number without it, haha.
Audrey turns 6 months on Friday. Craziness. Have to arrange her vaccinations this week, too. And maybe go to the gym. I also have a work symposium to attend (with Audrey) on Thur. I will see my boss there so will advocate for the redundancy (Mim did point out that I probably shouldn’t bother showing initiative in attending work events on May leave whilst trying to convince them to let me go. Good point, but I do care about this research area and intend to continue working in it eventually, so it’s not quite that simple. Pretending I’m professional and my brain still works whilst with a baby should be fun in any case.

Why do horrible things always happen right before a major event? It's crazy. Have you had any luck at replacing the missing cards?
No way she is nearly 6 months....no, no, no!
