Should Be Doing Work in Public

I should be doing work, but instead I’m on here writing and playing stupid Facebook games. I have to set up my Google classrooms and finish my teacher page for the school website before Monday. I also have to finalize what I’m doing for the first week, the kids come Tuesday. I have a pretty good idea, but have to go over things again.

I met the other Science teacher at our training on Thursday. She taught 8th grade last year and offered me all of her materials to use. Since we are each teaching a section of 7th grade this year we decided to split the work load and have our classes do the same thing.

I still have questions about how to set up the online gradebook.

In other news, we wet to the horse track today and lost. Last time we broke even. Hubby lost $20. He placed a bet and walked away from the machine without taking the ticket. Turns out he had bet for the wrong horse, so we placed another bet. Neither one won, so we ended up just betting $20 more than we would have if he wouldn’t have left the ticket.

I’m sure you don’t want to hear about my shoe troubles, but I’m going to tell you anyways. Last time we went to the track, (which was my first time there) I noticed a lot of women wearing pretty dresses and kind of dressed up, so today I decided to wear a dress. It was pink with flowers, my daughter gave it to me before she moved. I’d never pick pink, but it was my daughters and I was complaining about never liking the way dresses fit me. I have big boobs and carry my extra weight in my stomach. She said this dress would look great on me so I tried it on and liked it, so she gave it to me. Anyways, back to the shoes. I had picked up a brand new pair of pink platform sandals (you know what I mean, they are like heels, but the whole ting is high, but higher at the back) at a church rummage sale and never wore them. Remember, I don’t usually wear pink. So I thought about the shoes and thought it was the perfect time to wear them. They are really high, when I walked out of the bedroom wearing them, Hubby stood up straighter lol. They have a strap that goes around the ankle. That strap was rubbing and hurting the whole time. I kept trying to readjust it. Making it looser, then tighter. The shoes were just horrible, now I know why they ended up at the rummage sale. Of course between every race Hubby wanted to walk to the paddock and look at the horses. After the first few races I just waited and didn’t go with. Lesson learned, so not wear new shoes somewhere like that until I know how they are.

I may do some work in a bit. I think I’m putting it off because I’m not sure what to write on my teacher page. I looked at other teachers, but don’t want to make it seem like I’m copying. But really, there are only so many ways to say who you are and your teaching experience. The principal also wants us to post a recent picture of ourselves to “make us seem human.

I’m 99% sure I got the job because I have ran a marathon in the past. The principal has all her race medals hanging on a wall in her office and during my first interview I asked her about them and told her that I also run (well used to, I really need to get back into it. That’s how I lost weight before and this time I lost the first week and have been stalled out, then the past few days I’ve been off the diet wagon and have gained back almost all I lost. When I get into running, it’s like a switch goes off in my brain and I’m all in and my eating is good. I just cannot make myself get back into it. I’m the Queen of excuses lately.) There are five new teachers in my building and when we had to introduce ourselves on Wednesday two of them mentioned running. So three off out the five people she hired have running backgrounds.

Going to go now, and maybe do some work, but probably play my stupid cooking game. Hubby is already snoring on the couch.
