I went back ten years in my journal to poke around a bit. $2.58 a gallon for gas and a fill up was $70. If I had $70 now I don’t know what I could possibly buy with it. It was strange reading about life, as written by me, ten years ago. It was obvious that I had no plan. I guess that may be why I’m where I am now.
I finished reading the Huxley book- “After Many a Summer”. It was a good story with a bit of metaphysics thrown in.
I found another email from the library today. I now have two new novels to pick up when I return these two books. And I still have half the non-fiction to read yet. It is a local book so I can re-check it.
Game of Thrones is really picking up. Littlefinger is not on Arya’s list but there was that conversation she’d overheard when she was a servant girl back in Season Two. And of course, if Sansa tells her what he’s been up to he won’t need to be on any list.
Roasted Lannister’s. It was great.
So yeah, I’ll go to the library and grocery store tomorrow morning.
I heard last week that it hadn’t rained in Portland, OR in fifty days. And on the TV this morning I overheard, while putting on my coffee, that it hadn’t rained in Seattle in fifty-three days. That is definitely unusual. Unprecedented.
And Greenland is burning.
The one sure thing I’ve learned living life is that if you think things are crazy now, just wait. It’s surely going to get crazier.
