Mom spent the morning on the internet and the telephone looking for her new frig. No luck. She went to play with her friends from 1pm to 3pm and laid down for a short nap after that. Later on she came out to tell me that she’d finally gotten a hold of someone on the phone and found out that her frig will be delivered on Monday, with a call half an hour before they arrive. No answer to the question as to why we were told delivery on Tuesday, yesterday.
Daughter called tonight and told me that Francilynn had messaged her on the internet and left a phone number and that she wanted me to call.
Yep, I called the number.
(Be polite, but stupid.) Right?
Anyway, she had just been released from eleven months in jail. She didn’t want to go into details. Maybe later. She sounded like she always has. I asked if I could still call her Chubby Girl. She said that she’d lost weight in jail. “Okay, how about Squirtle? You remember that?” She did. Yeah, I could always make her . . . laugh. It’s been years since I’ve heard that laugh. It is the same.
She asked if I was working. I said I was an elderly care-giver. “So, you’re still a bum?” She always was a smart-ass.
I may regret giving my new smartphone number to “ei serepein men”, My Island Girl, but whatever.
Odd, that it was this month ten years ago that we first started hanging out together. August 2007. She was twenty-two years old. It doesn’t seem that long ago. And did we really live together nearly two years? Crazy.
And then Daughter sent me a recent picture of Francilynn’s three terrorists that she’d stolen off the internet. Damn, kids grow up too quick! But yeah, I guess it has been quite a few years.
Anyway, I’m going to call it a productive day. More so than usual.
