The monsoon in At the foot of the hill

It’s that time of year in this part of the country where the weather shifts into midsummer patterns. After several weeks of hot and dry we watch each afternoon as the towering thunderheads build up and up and up. Sooner or later we’re going to get wet. And there will be thunder and lightning and if we are in the right place there may be hail… But the mornings…ah, the mornings…are so beautiful I can’t help but head for my deck and just look at the beautiful blue, blue of the sky, give my two pots of flowers some TLC and watch the world go by.
We are excited to be joining our old friends from forever tonight for dinner and theater. Dreading the Friday night traffic though.... The show we are going to is clear on the far side of town.
