More Fete than Fait. (c:

Last year’s Fete was Fait, dark clouds and it rained all afternoon! This year with had some dull clouds but there were gaps of blue sky’s and just a moments of fine rain; so most of the action was outside.

The action in our tea, coffee and cake business’ was mostly slow all afternoon, enough to near clear out table of cakes; our table was a full size pool table covered with stout board; so no tea or coffee found it’s way to the velvet.

The Dog Show seemed to run all afternoon, I think it was more for children then dogs, there was pony rides, a Bouncing Castle and other things to keep kids running and bouncing in versus ways …..

There was an Ambulance and a Fire Engine here all afternoon and both, and I’m pleased to say neither was needed; the fire engine was open to children – sum up to fifty.

My one mistake be going out was not taking Solpadelne, my back had not been clever in the morning, and it didn’t improve reaching into deep sinks!

We tried a different way of pricing, we asked for donations, we noticed people just upped to a round £, some who had two teas and cake that had been between 3 and £4 would dive a £5 note no change wanted. Our income for the Church was nicely up.
