Whew!!

Lake Geneva was great. Im so glad my bff Ashley was able to meet us at the hotel and stay Wednesday night into Thursday. Its definitely easier to wrangle kiddos with a sidekick. And, it was just much needed social time for me. That girl is for sure awesome. She ‘gets’ me. And was (is?) one of the few people to insist on popping by and making plans with me even when I try to hermit. I’m different post-Ivy. And I’d say Im not 100% settled into this ‘new me’. But I really cant thank her enough for sticking through as a prominent presence as I figure this all out.

Anyway. We got there Wednesday around 4, swam a bit and then went out to dinner. Post dinner we swam some more and everyone settled in around 11.

Thursday we headed to the Jelly Belly Factory tour (free!). And then I managed to spend $30 on jelly beans and fudge. Haha. They had free samples of a billion different flavors. Just pick your poison. We went to this really awesome petting farm after the jellybean factory. Green Meadows Petting Farm (had to look that up) in East Troy, WI. This place was seriously the coolest petting farm I have EVER been to! The animals were super friendly. And baby goats. And a cow you could milk. And turtles!! The hayride was really fun with the accelerations and turns by the hills. There was a real-life fire truck turned into a playground and slide. Definitely worth the visit if you are in the area.

We swam Thursday night (after Ashley went home and we had dinner) until 9, and the kids watched a pokemon movie to wind down for bed. The movie was twice as long as I thought it was. Which resulted in kids not settling into bed until after 11pm. Oooooops.

Friday the kids slept until 9, we scrambled eggs for breakfast, and packed up to check out. After loading up our car we stayed in the waterpark until close to 2pm. Orion was kind of a killjoy the last day, due to lack of sleep. But Fiona handled it all SO well. There was no whining from her even when she was bummed that we couldnt do something she wanted because he was melting down. Super impressed with her behavior at that point, and I made sure to tell her I was sorry we couldnt do ‘xyz’ right then, but that I really appreciated her understanding.

And we are home. And playing laundry catch up. But it was good to have a break in the routine. :)
