Whites Stick Together in Book Four: Ichi-no-Tani 2017

Yes, that was a potentially racist as hell statement. While I would certainly hope to avoid contributing to racism… I am becoming exceedingly comfortable with my own racist thoughts provided they are strained through the lens of business. Expressly stating: I adore living in a place where there are more languages than simply English. The sheer lack of diversity was a large contributing factor to the evil of Tiny Town. I love diversity. But… I am reaching the point in my heart where I thought (as I was driving home today)… I don’t want to work for non-English speakers anymore!

I mean… honestly? Everything I do is communications based. Consider anything you know about lawyers (even what you’ve seen on Television.) Is a lawyer ever not (a) reading; (b) talking; or (c) writing? Lawyering is a job of words. It makes things… frustrating.

Luckily, White Boss totally has my back. When I got back to the office, he had a nice ten minute meeting of “Chinese Boss is super stressed since she’s flying to New Orleans tomorrow. Don’t worry about it. These are just things we’ll need to figure out how to deal with.”

Then I had a quick pow wow with Chinese Boss, and it was okay. More “Here’s what to do better and do different” which is still okay. She smiled and (at the end) said that we’re all just trying to figure out how we can make multiple locations and different types of staffing work. I laughed and said, “As long as the day doesn’t end in me getting fired, I can take it.” She laughed and said that we’re not to that point yet. So… comforting… ish?

Maybe that is one of the reasons things with the wife have become so much more difficult. Now my entire day is spent trying to make Women with insane standards like me. Reminds me of High School. But in High School I could say, “I’ve chosen to remain celibate so it is no big deal.” Now? Now, with one, I have to say: “She likely controls my income for the foreseeable future” and the other “I want you to be happy so we can stay married.”

PS: I was looking at houses for fun… and because a House would be nice someday. Chinese Assistant (the one I don’t like) was talking about the house in Virginia his parents bought. His parents live in China. He lives in Iowa. They bought a house in Virginia “just cuz” and because they heard owning houses in America was a good way to make extra money. The house they bought? 5,000 square feet. So… America… when you want to bitch that Millennials are ruining this country… maybe that is a time to become more patriotic. Because… seriously? It is China. I know I sound like Trump here but… look at it. China is The Great Model of Economic Disparity. The poor are held underfoot by the Government. The rich bribe the government openly and do whatever they want. Meanwhile companies like Ford and Ivanka Trump’s clothing line are no longer building plants and manufacturing in US or Mexico… they go to China. And why aren’t there “starter” homes for the poor barely surviving Millennials? Well… they are getting bought up and flipped or simply rented out. And I know, I know that this is racist and xenophobic and would never pass muster but… if people are going to buy a house and either (a) let it sit empty or (b) rent it out… having never lived in that house themselves… could we at least try to find a way to keep that revenue IN COUNTRY?
