Adding green. in A small but passable life.

The republicans made fun of Obama bowing down to the aristocracy/dictator/assholes of Saudi Arabia forgetting how baby Bush knelt and kissed the hand of said asshole. And so of course, Trump did the deed huger and better by curtsying! You really can’t make this shit up.

I’ve been busy. I got all the old cables stripped off the building and the screw holes filled. Everything up to where I need a ladder. I’ve found a ladder but now I need to deal with the heat as we’re back up to triple digit temperatures for the foreseeable future.

Mom and I went to Lowe’s yesterday and bought living things. Three flowers for the porch. A yellow one, a lavender one, and a red one. I don’t know what they’re called, the only thing I know is they’re supposed to do well with 6+ hours of direct sunlight per day and on the corner of the porch they should get that every morning. I re-potted them and put them in new clay pots and put them on a tri-level plant stand Mom already had. For the house we bought two more little succulents for the kitchen window sill for a total of three now. And I found a huge philodendron (?) to add some green to the living room. I may have gotten carried away with that one as it is a monster. Mom said we can trim it and make starters for other pots. It is now taking up most of the dining table with runners nearly to the floor. I have re-potted it from the hanging pot to a decorative pot Mom had as there was no place to hang it.

I’ve just returned from the grocery store. I finally have a definitive answer. Yes, a Missouri EBT card does work in Arizona. I’ve heard it does but never tried it.

I filled up the hummingbird feeder. We’ll see if any of the little buggers find it.

I’m still discussing with Mom about getting bird houses for the quail. There is one nest already up in the carport. She is worried about the inevitable bird shit.

Mom is talking about new cell phones. She thinks two new smartphones (Galaxy S8’s) and a regular plan might be in order. I told her some minutes on my old Straight Talk flip phone would satisfy me. She’s not happy with her Jitterbug flip phone and she canceled the Verizon plan on her Galaxy S4 phone over a year ago. She still uses that one on WiFi to play her games. Whatever. I don’t really want a smartphone or any phone. I haven’t had a working cell phone for years now. Why would I want to disturb the peace and quiet? There is a landline here.

So yeah, one day at a time.
