Mothers Day has been moved up at our house. Son Mike has to go to Calgary for his “real” job next week and so will fly up Sunday. He apologized for not being able to be here to celebrate and suggested that we do something tonight: It happens that he and his guitar-playing buddy have a gig booked at a Brew/Pub in Golden tonight and wanted to be sure we would come up there for it. Silly man. Of course!
We do try to be there whenever he performs within a reasonable distance. We did have a previous commitment; our senior club from the old neighborhood meets tonight for potluck and my food assignment was for a “main dish”. ( I am on the food team and know how upsetting it can be if we run short on main dishes and we have been getting visitors and new members almost every month.) So I was a little hesitant. Papa, however, immediately told Mike that we would be there. It will be fine. I will take my food to the meeting place and drop it off on our way. It will be in “disposable” pan. I asked the food chairlady to please take any unlikely leftovers. We will ride with DIL, so will go to her house after dropping off the food.
Don’t know if the grandsons will be going or not. Ben may be working. (Hooray!!) Younger is just getting home from his first year at Colorado State. (Another Hooray!!)
Anyhow, I’m looking forward to it. I thought these guys were good a year ago. They just keep getting better and better. Watch out world!!! After all these years, Mike’s dream is coming true.
Hope you all have a wonderful Mothers Day!!!!!
