My budgie is sick :o( I noticed on Monday his chest was all swollen. When I felt it, it was very soft. A quick Google search suggested his crop was fulled and blocked. So, off to the vet we went this morning. When I picked him up to put him in his travel cage, a load of disgusting, awful smelling clear liquid started pouring out of his mouth. I was horrified, I have a real problem with vomit and was desperately trying to put him down as quickly as possible while trying not to retch.

I told the vet about it when I got there and he did the same when she picked him up. It stunk out the entire room, my god it was foul. However, it turned out to be a good thing because, from that, she was easily able to diagnose that he has worms living in his crop, which is what’s blocking it and causing a build up of fluid. Bleurgh.

She ordered some special granules which I have to feed him which will kill the worms. Poor guy, I bet he isn’t feeling very well!

I took half a day off work for that, so I also took another two bin bags to the charity shop (Jay’s clothes), did a load of laundry, packed my bag for the weekend and blew up the airbed. No rest for the wicked.

The airbed is for Sonja; her and mam and dad are on their way down now. Tonight, I should have been staying in the hotel where the wedding was going to be, so I would already be there to get ready for the big day in the morning. I’m so glad they’re coming down to be with me tomorrow, it’s going to be very difficult to get through. I think spending the day in the spa at the hotel was probably the best idea we could have come up with. Spend the day relaxing, and we can raise a toast to Jay with our lunch. I think we are probably all going to cry at some point, though. 3pm UK time was when the wedding was supposed to be, please spare me a thought at that time, as I was supposed to be becoming Mrs. Davies-Shuck at that precise time.

And then on Saturday, it’s the big skydive! I’m hoping to be able to hire a photographer so I’ll be sharing those when we get back next week. Eeeee!
