I just can't seem to motivate myself to read any more legal books today. I have a writing assignment for tomorrow but.... I'm starting to regret taking that class. If it were an assignment of any value or merit, I would be all over it. It is, unfortunately, not. It isn't even a "research and analyze" assignment... it is a "research and tell me how you researched" assignment. These are the same people who TAUGHT me Legal Research 3 years ago when we were all just starting out. Here's my process: I found the case on WestLaw, read it, pushed the little X button that makes it go away. If you want a 2 page paper on that, I'm not sure if you are what we would call "stable."

Ooo,,, I had my last board meeting today. My legal organization's board only meets once a semester as we like to do everything with the rest of the organization... and this was our board meeting. Since I'm in charge of the organization this year; I am even more thrilled that it looks like our time table won't be as stupid as last year. Because of a shoddy president, all of our recruitment, fund raising, and events were scurried last-minute affairs. I have already gotten approval for a calendar for the semester, so no worries about last minute BS this time!! Now if I can only find a way to increase our member numbers, make a successful silent auction for charity, and get an end of the year party together.

Perhaps the best news of the day came in the form of my Diagnostic Bar Exam. Last Friday, the entire 3L class was given a 100 question bubble test; very similar to the second day of the 2 Day Bar exam. On the actual exam, there will be 200 questions and the final scores will be curved; but other than those differences- an authentic bar exam simulation. On the pretest, a score of 50% is considered extremely good. The average score for the 3L class was estimated at somewhere between 25-35%. My score? 48%. Phew and awesome!

Of course, I'm a law student... good news can't exist without nightmare consequences. lol. For you see, now I'm worried. If I did so well early, does that mean I won't do as well after I study hard? As these were simply simulation questions, what if the Bar Exam doesn't ask as many Torts questions but focuses more on Property law? But of course my favorite is still: I need to finish my bar application form!!! This thing is a nightmare. No, state government, I don't know the exact address of the nanny I had when I was 3... but YOU have it because if I don't put it on the application form, you ding me for dishonesty. How about you just give me all the information, I'll put it all on the application form, and then you can compare if I'm (a) dishonest or (b) not a digital encyclopedia of rare and trivial personal information. Really... I have a feeling that finishing this application is going to be more difficult than the test itself!
