Easier than I thought in 2017

I was so scared of the AFTER HYSTERECTOMY, scared of the pain, scared of not being able to move around.
This was nothing like I invisioned. Surgery Wednesday, he left me alone and pissed me off so maybe I was determined. 4 am they come in and remove the catheter and tell me I can get dressed, move around, walk the hallway…Whatever. I’m fully medicated of course but I get dressed, wander my room, pack stuff up, nap, basically just wait. I am out and headed home by 9.
Of course it’s straight to bed to toss and turn and lose my mind. I get up to fix lunch and he has a heart attach. I keep explaining I’m not dying…I have to move!!! I discover that the hospital had been doing 2 pain pills and one Motrin every 4 hours and she had written my home meds for 1 pain pill and one Motrin every 6 hours. That might was the roughest. But I eventually suffered through and got them on a every 3 hours rotation. I thought I would die Thursday night but by Friday morning I was golden. Alarms sound on my phone every 3 hours never miss a dose…Zero pain. I can do this. I talk him into letting me go to the grocery store with him. He said straight to the pudding and straight home. Haha I walked the store and did fine. Of course I napped when we got home but still zero pain.
Saturday we went to Sam’s just to walk and again it was great til some idiot selling hair straighteners caught his attention and he stopped with the corner of the buggy centered on my stomach :/. I recovered and survived. We even stopped at Walmart to get poop meds…The softener and sencot S hadn’t moved anything yet and I knew I didn’t want to struggle to poop (TMI I know lol). The second stop was almost to much. I was really ready to get home. Lunch, pain pill, nap in that order lol. Luckily the meds started doing their job and I won’t need the magnesium stuff.
Since I have felt so good we are going to attempt Easter at his family’s. With the understanding that I may need to come home before he is ready.
This has been so much easier than I thought it would be. The only time I have gotten queasy was when I followed the directions on the gasx strips and took 2. Worse 20 minutes the whole time and that was Thursday night.
I can do this.

Don't overdo it. It will comeback to bite you. I'm glad your recovery has been smooth.
