Too much. in A small but passable life.

Honestly, I need to stay away from the news sites on the interwebs.

A small town of about 8000 folks in Wisconsin. A 65 year old man calls 911 for medical assistance. The pigs get there before the ambulance, of course. A SWAT team and the bomb squad. They of course beat the man bloody enough to require hospitalization. And then blame it on “miscommunication” instead of typical law enforcement stupidity.

And sure, I had to read the comments. One comment in particular seemed to explain it perfectly:

“…why are we treating our fellow citizens like this?

There is a shockingly obvious reason for all of it. Conservatism and the country’s unwillingness to admit that every single social and economic problem the country has ever had is a direct result of the conservative ideology all by itself.

It’s no small coincidence that Fox News, right wing radio, and conservatives in general can watch Black Americans being gunned down in the streets by the police and then call the victims thugs.

There isn’t a single social or economic issue in America or any other country for that matter that can’t be solved simply by eliminating conservatives from the decision making. Not one. Separation of church and state must be expanded to include separation of conservatism and state.

There isn’t a single social or economic problem that can be solved so long as conservatism is considered a legitimate political ideology when it is no such thing and never has been.”

Back to the United story. Two questions, maybe three need to be explored. Would that scenario have happened if that victim were a white woman saying “No”? And if it were a white woman being dragged bloody and beaten off the plane would the other passengers have intervened? And third, would the airline be apologizing and banning terrorists from removing (re-accommodating?) passengers from planes if they hadn’t lost hundreds of millions of dollars of stock value?

Just wondering.

As for the de-regulation of the airline industry which led to this shitty business model of air travel, see above note.

The youngsters and Liam Dog returned from camping at the river. The youngsters were sunburned and the Liam Dog was wore out. I’m glad they had a good time. It’s been two years since I’ve been out there.

I need to relocate the house plants from the West window up here to the front porch so I can cover the windows with the Reflectix once again, now that the A/C is in use. It warmed up to almost 90 degrees up here yesterday. Can’t deal with that. It’s 77.5 degrees right now at 1:21pm. The A/C has been cycling since about 10am. I think the thermostat downstairs is set at 72 degrees.

Anyway, I need to stop scribbling and get this posted. I really do need to get off the internet. Or at least learn to ignore the insanity.
