Will Not Cross-Post in Will Fly For Food

I guess I'm done cross-posting.

I'm OK with OD being down indefinitely. I was a member on Teen Open Diary since I was probably 13 or so, then when that was dissolved (around 2005 I think?) I moved to Open Diary. I lost my TOD entirely, but I'm not bothered by that it was all emo mis-understood teenage bullshit. I did get my OD downloaded, but I'm not sure what I will do with it, if anything.

In other news, N and I went to Watertown on Saturday afternoon after I got off work, had a date night with Amber and Andy, Haley and Tim. The weather was OK going down there - sleet/ice pellets/snow in Huron, all along the route. Started snowing in earnest when we got to Watertown, which is pretty much par for the course (it is winter). We had a superfun date - we went out for supper, then went to this new place in Watertown to play Laser Tag. Yes, you read that correctly. It was girls v boys. My team was at a distinct disadvantage, since Haley has a broken elbow and Amber just had a c-section last month. Haley's 6 year old, Elin was on our team too. She pretty much rocked it - she wasn't tall enough to be seen over the barricades so she could sneak up on people and frag them right in the back. After that we played the game Cards Against Humanity at Haley and Tim's. It was so much fun.

Sunday morning was the baptism - Amber and Andy are going to a Methodist church now. This cult (whoops, Church) required that the baptism sponsors were already church members. A and A had Lorelai baptised at a different church but no longer attend that one for several reasons, mainly that their pastor said unsavory things about homosexuals that they didn't agree with. By the way, if you're a pastor/preacher/priest, and you have strong opinions that are offensive, you should probably keep them to yourself. Nobody wants to hear you condemn entire groups of people, many of whom are believers, to the eternal hellfires of damnation. We went to the church service, paid our fine (whoops, offering), then went to A&A's to set up for the small lunch/gathering. Right before we left a blizzard started, so we got to drive home in zero zero visibility. The first 3/4 of the drive took over two hours, then the last quarter was perfectly fine. We literally drove out of the backside of the blizzard. Oh, SD you are so endearing. Why does this keep happening?

Now, it's super cold again. Keloland (local news) provided this helpful headline... Cold Wind Chills!

Cold Wind Chills? I wasn't aware there were any other kinds. Granted, when it is 90 and the wind blows at 30 MPH does it make it feel like 87? Haha wtf. I hate winter so much.

To improve this particular road trip and cold snap, the wiring harness in the door of my car has quit working entirely. This means I can't open my trunk OR my fuel door. (My key fob doesn't work either - they say the "transmitter is bad" - can't figure out how both transmitters in both key fobs failed simultaneously..) This created a really hilarious moment at a service station in Desmet the other day, where I had to climb through the backseat of my car into the trunk to hit the emergency release, then we could use the emergency fuel door open lever. I finally caved and contacted the dealership in Sioux Falls, which reluctantly agreed to sell me the wiring harness at wholesale price so I saved about $40 over their quoted price. We will install it next time one of us works a weekend at the airport.

I was also offered the PT job at the bank I applied to. They will perform a background check and if everything is OK I will probably negotiate a starting date the beginning of February. I'm also into my 22 day OT stretch with my job. I'm very excited for all this - it helps to jump start my Total Money Makeover.

Not much else to say, I hope everyone is well. <3 Sarah
