the difference between a caged tiger’s pacing
as he’s been waiting to pounce and to strike and
an elephant’s pacing that’s listlessly swaying
from confinement driving them mad or the like
is subtle and hard to read
the difference is vital and vast
as for whether I’m pacing
like tiger or elephant
if anyone ever knows
I’ll sure be the last
