A finish of sorts ………… in The odd entries from life …….

My Mercury Capsule as tuned out to be ‘Friendship 7’ and American’s first Astronaut to orbit the Earth John Glenn, 18 July – 18 December 2016.

Mercury Capsule Friendship 7 was Mercury Number 13, and John Glenn orbits the Earth three times. My Mercury Capsule is three parts missing, all are rocket cones and are very small; odd that those are missing.

The bigger problem is the decals, the plastic parts keep ok, old decals are more of a problem as they get more difficult to float of the backing card, Friendship 7 came of after a long soak, of the two ‘UNITED STATES’ with flag one is still one the card, the second one was missing ED from United and half of a E and the S remain on the card also.

I shall try again with warm water with soap, other wise I’m pleased with the finished model, it the box remains the parts for a 1/48 scale Gemini Capsule; I wonder what adventures I will find between those parts.
