Elections for the Second Chamber of our Parliment! in The world around me

This morning Tom and I went to the nearby voting office.
One month ago I didn’t intend to bring out my vote at all. I was and am of the opinion that these days all politicians say what they think the public wants to hear, not what they plan to do if they are chosen. They don’t stand for their word.
Yet, it made me itchy. I’ve always voted.
Tom watched a tv program on BBC where they made a bit of a joke of Dutch elections. And it is a joke. With 24 parties the voting list is one metre wide. To read them all at the same time you had to spread your arms.
I did find a solution. I certainly didn’t watch any political tv program: talkshow or political debate… no thank you!
Instead I read the voting list you receive at home carefully. Circled all the women of most of the parties. Then crossed off the ones that live in the centre of our country, called De Randstad in favour of those living in the periphery like we do.
Early this morning, a quarter to 7, not completely awake, I heard another tip. Don’t chose a woman on top or near the top. They will be chosen anyway because of their position high on the list. But vote for one that may not make it otherwise.
‘My politician’ isn’t from our area but lives in the very Southeast.

She's not and I knew that chance would be tiny. She could only be elected is she got enough votes by favour... if that's the right way to express this. For me it was meant as a way to vote AND protest.
