self-aggrandizement and self-pity at once in poetry

Getting crucified up on a hill
when you’re still
young and pretty
in the big dirty city
I’m sure that hurts like hell for a couple of days
but then bam, you’re now magic
and misremembered for millennia hence.

Living a whole lifelong
never feeling like you
did right by your limitless potential,
well,
that’s why I have all these back problems,
I guess.
