It is funny. Knowing we’re leaving; the majority of my apathy is gone. Like… I’m working towards something and I’m excited. Which is funny because I come into the office and… I still feel apathy for everything around here. The biological father nobody can seem to find? I don’t care. The guy that exposed himself to his neighbor? I don’t care. All I care about is leaving here without screwing people over. Which… according to how low that bar was set… means that if I tell people what cases I have, I’m doing better. I’m planning on leaving full case summaries (as I had always intended to) because… well… that’s who I am. But… yeah. Most of me is just focusing on “Which city to live in… how will we afford something… how do we get the move going” that kind of thing.
In politics… it appears that The Republicans are going full on Captain Planet villain; targeting the EPA and the Endangered Species Act. EVEN AS A CONSERVATIVE MINDED PERSON I have to sit here and wonder… do these assholes not realize that they’ve become the parodies of themselves? Like… an extreme caricature of the GOP used to be rich men crowded around a conference table planning to dismantle protections for the earth. NOW this seems like a fairly accurate depiction:
In goofy/silly; this has been going through my mind this morning:
And finally… if I do get set up with a DnD Group when we move back… I think I’m going to become something standard and boring (as far as archetypes) but that may make it easier to learn what I’m doing. Typically, almost always, I would choose to be an Elf Ranger. Literally every time that is an option in a game, I choose that. Long range weaponry, elvish grace… these are things I deeply appreciate. BUT joining a new group? I may simply roll a Dwarf Fighter. Something a bit standard that can throw down when needed. A blunt instrument that would allow me the opportunity to focus on Character Personality Creation as opposed to Character Stat Sheets. Case in point: Pathfinder, trying to play a Half-Elf Wizard. I do like my characters complicated; but that choice seriously bites me in the ass a lot.
