Daring to Hope? in Everyday Ramblings

In the quest for marketing materials I started taking pictures of the new studio. Folks moan and groan about coming downtown at rush hour but they love the studio. But Mrs. Sherlock cut it too short with an appointment last night and couldn’t find parking so I ended up having a class with one person.

She is relatively new and I value so much this special time I spend with students getting to know their bodies a little better and what they want to and need to work on.

The frustrating thing for me is that I knew I had material specific to an issue she is having and I couldn’t remember most of it! That is the gift of teaching over years; one begins to retain this stuff. I am looking forward to getting there. In the meantime I will review and sneak the particular exercises that are appropriate into my regular classes as they will generally benefit all bodies.

We are having a major flood watch. There is water everywhere as it has been raining for days and will continue until tomorrow night. Today it is weirdly and wonderfully warm there under the dawning leaden skies.

I am seeing snowdrops and just the beginning of crocus and daffodil and iris shoots. But in the meantime it is all mud and broken branches and all the usual puddles are twice their normal size.

This afternoon I have my post op appointment and fingers crossed will get cleared for impressions for two crowns next week.

I admit this round of dental work has been challenging on my ability to make healthy food choices and I have been putting on weight. Nimrod has been also driving me a bit crazy at work.

Though…if what he is doing that is driving me crazy pans out it means a big chunk of something we spend a lot of time doing will go away!!!

Dare I hope? Is it possible to hope?

My student last night recommended Charlie Rose’s recent interview with Jon Stewart as a beacon of hope.

I’ll look into that.

In the meantime I am savoring the laughs from Saturday Night Live this last weekend. The Grim Reaper indeed!
